Dyson V15 Detect+ cordless vacuum cleaner review-the best one to date.

Comment-There is an old saying, “The more things stay the same, the more they change.” Wait-that’s a step backwards. It doesn’t matter, because it applies to Dyson. Their line of cordless stick vacuum cleaners revolutionized the market. Now it seems that everyone is copying what Dyson started. Years ago, we bought a Dyson vertical machine-we still use its robotic beast on our back porch carpet. Later, we upgraded to the Cyclone V10 Absolute vacuum cleaner and never looked back. Since then, Dyson has released some upgrades, which gives us the latest Dyson V15 Detect+ wireless vacuum cleaner. At first glance, it looks a lot like our old V10, but oh, it’s much more than that.
The V15 Detect+ cordless vacuum cleaner is the latest product in the long series of Dyson vacuum cleaners. It is battery-powered, which makes it easier to vacuum houses without wire restrictions. Although it is cordless, it has most of the functions of a corded vacuum cleaner. The battery lasts for up to 60 minutes (in Eco mode) and is now (finally) replaceable, so you can continue to vacuum for longer with the optional extra battery. There are many more accessories I will introduce later in this review.
As I said, V15 Detect+ looks a lot like other Dyson vacuum cleaners, but this is the similarity. This is a different animal-more useful, I dare say, more fun to use. It feels balanced in your hand-whether it is vacuuming the floor or the wall where spider webs may accumulate, it is easy to operate.
The motor—Dyson calls it a Hyperdymium motor—speeds up to 125,000 rpm. In other words, it is terrible (I can’t resist). What I know is that when we finish vacuuming, there will be a lot of dust and hair in the trash can that need to be emptied.
Dyson has been making products that look interesting and sometimes even beautiful. Although I would not say that the V15 is beautiful, it does exude a cool industrial atmosphere. The 14 golden cyclone chambers and the bright, transparent blue-green HEPA filter cover and the red accessory tool connector say: “Use me.”
It is very comfortable to hold the hand when vacuuming. Its trigger power button fits your hand perfectly. V15 runs when the trigger is pulled, and stops when released. This helps prevent battery waste when not actually vacuuming.
V15 Detect+ includes a full-color LED screen that shows battery life, the mode you are using, and preferences. In the automatic mode, the built-in piezoelectric sensor will size and count the dust particles, and automatically adjust the suction power as needed. Then, when you vacuum, it will display real-time information on the amount of vacuum on the LED screen. Although V15 can count dust is very surprising, but soon I no longer care and focus on how much battery time I have left.
Although V15 is counting all the dust, its built-in filter can capture 99.99% of fine dust as small as 0.3 microns. In addition, the newly upgraded HEPA motor rear filter can capture additional tiny particles as small as 0.1 microns, which means that almost all air exhausted from the vacuum is as clean as possible. My wife with allergies appreciates this feature very much.
High torque vacuum cleaner head-this is the main vacuum head. It is very suitable for cleaning carpets. We have two dogs and they have shed their hair. Our house is full of tiles, but there is a large carpet in the living room, and we use a vacuum cleaner to vacuum it almost every day. The V15 vacuum effect is so good that you can fill the trash can from the carpet every 24 hours. This is amazing-and disgusting. We do not use the head on the tiles (not recommended for hard floors) because the brush rotates too fast and the debris may sweep the head before being sucked up. Dyson made a different head for hard floors-the Laser Slim Fluffy head.
Laser Slim Fluffy tip-The soft tip that rotates and sweeps during vacuuming is more beneficial to hard floors. Dyson has now added a feature that both irritated my wife and made her addicted to V15 Detect+. They added a laser to the end of the attachment, and when you vacuum, it emits a bright green light on the floor. My wife-a clean freak and a phobia of bacteria-constantly vacuums and steams the floor. Our shed dog is of no avail. That laser is amazing. It saw everything. Every time my wife vacuumed with her hairy head, she kept commenting on how much she hated it-because she kept sucking until the laser left nothing. The Laser Slim Fluffy tip is a cool feature, and I believe it is only a matter of time before it appears on other vacuum cleaners.
Note: The Laser Slim Fluffy roller can be removed and cleaned. This header is also suitable for our old V10. It can be purchased separately as a replacement part, but it is currently sold out. However, I do not guarantee that it will work for your Dyson.
Hair screw tool-think of it as a mini torque cleaning head. Don’t be fooled by its weird conical shape, this tool is perfect for vacuuming sofas and seat cushions-and its non-tangled brush can absorb a lot of hair without getting caught by the hair entangled in the brush.
Combi-crevice tool-this is what it looks like-a crevice tool with a removable brush at the end. I don’t like to use the brush part of the tool, and prefer to use the gap tool alone.
Stubborn dirt brush-This tool has harder bristles, which makes it suitable for vacuuming car mats and carpets. It is good for loosening the ground in sucking mud or dry mud.
Mini soft dusting brush-this is very suitable for vacuuming keyboards, sensitive electronic products and anything that needs more dust than hard vacuuming.
Combination tool-I did not get this tool. Many vacuum cleaners contain such tools, and I haven’t seen any advantages over brushes or crevice tools.
Built-in dust removal and crevice tool-this is a hidden tool. Press the red button to remove the wand (shaft), it will show the gap/brush tool stored inside. This is a clever design that becomes very convenient over time.
Wand Clamp-This tool is clamped on the main shaft of the vacuum cleaner and holds two tools that you may often need, such as gap and brush tools. Please note that some larger accessory tools are not suitable for clamps. In addition, it will not clamp so tightly. I have hit the furniture several times.
Low Extension Adapter-This tool allows you to vacuum under a chair or sofa without bending over. It can be bent back at any angle so that the V15 can reach under the furniture. It can also be locked in a straight position for regular vacuuming.
Docking station-I have never used the included docking station to connect V10 to the wall. It is just placed on a shelf ready to be used. This time I decided to use a wall-mounted docking station for V15. Even after the station is properly connected, it still feels less secure. I have always wondered if it will pull out of the wall because there is a 7-pound cleaner hanging on it. The good news is that V15 charges when connected to a charging station, so you can always use a fully charged vacuum cleaner at any time.
Charger-Finally, Dyson’s battery is removable! If you have a large house or a lot of carpets, when another battery is in use, charging one battery can double the vacuum time. The battery connection is firm and tight. The Dyson battery keeps running at full power until the power is exhausted, and it will not decay, so the V15 will never lose its suction during use.
Vacuuming with V15 Detect+ is simple and smooth. The head can easily rotate around the furniture legs and stay straight when you need it. The accessories are intuitive and easy to exchange. There is no time to waste time trying to figure out how anything fits or how to use the tool. Dyson is about design, and it is embodied in ease of use. Most of the parts are plastic, but it feels well made and everything is perfectly connected together.
We can use the automatic mode to vacuum our 2,300 square foot house in about 30 minutes without draining the battery. Remember, this is on the tiled floor. Carpeted houses take longer and usually require higher settings, resulting in shorter battery life.
I said before that V15 Detect+ is almost fun to use. It does a very good job of vacuuming, almost justifying its high price. I always think that Dyson overcharges their products. However, when I write this review, their V15 is sold out, so Dyson can obviously charge as much as he wants. Then the laser. Without it, V15 is a very good vacuum cleaner. With a laser, it’s great-even if my wife doesn’t admit it.
