Customized PCD and cemented carbide tool manufacturer West Ohio Tool has added two Walter Helitronic Power 400 SL tool grinders, equipped with ECO Loader Plus automation function, which can load more than 80 tools unattended, thereby enhancing its production ability.
The equipment enables the Russells Point, Ohio-based company to double the capacity of its unattended operations and save space in the company’s busy workshops through internal automation. These machines are equipped with linear glass scales on all axes to achieve consistent grinding accuracy within the tight tolerances required for the production of ultra-precision tools.
“We think this upgrade opportunity is an ideal way to continue our investment in the latest technology in the manufacturing sector,” said Kaci King, chief financial officer and co-owner. “We hope to keep the focus on accuracy while improving the ability to turn off the lights.”
